VARTA.wall is the start of a new product generation for energy self-sufficient living.

VARTA is presenting the completely new high-performance energy storage system VARTA.wall at Smarter E Europe. Its newly developed die-cast aluminum housing with an installation depth of just ten centimeters makes it one of the most space-saving storage systems on the German market. A special boost function increases the security of supply in emergency power mode. The storage system is the first element of a new VARTA product generation for energy self-sufficient living, which will be expanded with additional devices and services in the coming months.

Press pictures:

Peter Werner, General Manager Energy Storage Systems: „VARTA.wall stands for VARTA’s development and design expertise. This new storage device is based on the experience and technology commitment from 135 years of VARTA’s company history. It heralds a generation change in our stationary storage systems.

High performance even in emergency power mode

VARTA.wall was developed in Germany, is produced in Europe and is the first high-voltage storage system from VARTA with a capacity of ten to 20 kilowatt hours. Depending on the inverter used, the power is between 5.24 kW and 10.4 kW. Up to five systems can be operated in parallel.

The storage system is capable of providing emergency power and can supply the entire house with electricity in the event of a grid failure. A boost function increases the discharge rate (C rate), which is 0.5 in continuous operation, to 0.75 for a short time. This enables the storage system to absorb peak loads, such as those that occur when electronic devices are started.

Extremely flexible and easy installation

Dominik Gluba, Head of Operations Energy Storage Systems: „During the development, the focus was on our specialist partners’ desire for flexible and simple installation. This starts with the inverter compatibility, continues with the modularity and also includes the innovative module design and connector system. This allows the storage system to be installed in under 30 minutes.

VARTA.wall is compatible with various market-leading inverter brands, including the market leader SMA, which is also the launch partner of the new storage system, and Kostal. Further compatibilities are in preparation. Thanks to its modular design, the storage device is also suitable for a wide variety of system configurations. The VARTA connector system ensures that the system components do not have to be wired.

New product family for energy self-sufficient living

In the coming months, VARTA will be launching further devices and services for energy self-sufficient living. This will include a wall box and a separate electricity tariff. The company is thus establishing itself as a partner for all households that are promoting their own energy transition.

Tesvolt to showcase new series of energy storage systems at The smarter E

PRESS RELEASE – Wittenberg, 02.05.2022:

Higher energy density and economic efficiency //

Tesvolt will present its new series of energy storage systems designed for commercial and industrial use at ees Europe in Munich, Germany. The new battery storage systems are set apart by their higher energy density and particularly high economic efficiency. The E series is Tesvolt’s response to the global shortage of chips in energy storage systems; the new systems are configured to use 80% fewer chips. This allows the manufacturer to produce its battery storage system solutions in larger batches and meet the skyrocketing demand for commercial storage systems.

Press pictures:

Commerce looking for independent energy supply

With electricity costs so high at the moment, many commercial companies are currently struggling to survive, and they want to achieve independence with their own photovoltaic installation and energy storage system, for example. We have also seen this development reflected in the demand for our storage systems, which has increased enormously in recent weeks,“,reported Daniel Hannemann, Co-Founder and CEO of Tesvolt. „Because the E series uses fewer chips, we can produce it in much larger batches – and help more commercial operations switch to an independent power supply.

Optimised and streamlined for economic efficiency

In both purchasing and operations, the storage systems in the E series cost less than the existing A series, due in part to the fact that the new battery modules, which can store almost 70% more energy, are arranged more compactly. The E series also uses the latest-generation Samsung SDI lithium-ion cells, making it even more powerful and robust. This gives the overall system an efficiency rating of over 90 percent – significantly higher than that of conventional energy storage systems on the market.

Suitable for any application

The storage systems in the E series meet the same quality criteria as the A series, but higher energy density and an optimised design mean we can produce them in larger quantities,“, explains Simon Schandert, Co-Founder and CTO of Tesvolt. „The E series is available in different product variants too, so it offers the right battery storage system for every application.“ The storage systems in the E series shave peak loads, optimise self-consumption and supply back-up power. They function both on-grid and off-grid and are also very well suited as charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The capacity of the new energy storage system solutions ranges from 70 kilowatt hours to several megawatt hours.

Power quality technology increases machinery lifespans

The quality of the electricity is another thing that’s important to many commercial and industrial operations, because it improves machines’ durability. That’s why we’ve integrated our power quality technology in both the TS-I HV 80 E and TS-I HV 100 E. It ensures good, consistent electricity quality – giving us a genuine USP on the market“, affirmed Mr Schandert. An active grid filter stabilises voltage and frequency, all the while reducing load imbalance, reactive power and harmonics in the commercial operation’s utility grid.

Intersolar: aleo presents new premium solar panels from the LEO series

PRESS RELEASE – Prenzlau, Germany, 22 April 2022:

leo solar is presenting its new LEO premium panel series at Intersolar. The solar panels will be available as glass-foil panels for on-roof and in-roof installation. The roof-mounted panels feature one model which is one half-cell string shorter. Both panel sizes can be interconnected. Thanks to the flexible range of sizes, it is possible to optimise the use of space on almost any roof.

You can find press images here:

The LEO family has a suitable panel for practically every application. The full-size flagship LEO panel (1,752 x 1,144 x 40 mm) with 108 half-cells made of monocrystalline silicon with a white back sheet delivers a peak output of 405 watts. The short model with 96 half-cells delivers 360 watts. The LEO black model with a black back sheet and identical dimensions is available for operators who require a consistent and elegant look for their solar plant.

High efficiency for the entire service life

aleo minimises series resistance by using silicon half-cells with ten busbars, thus maximising the efficiency of its premium panels. Instead of flat wires, thin, round wires are used, so that more light enters the cells.
The closely arranged busbars not only increase the efficiency, but also the durability of the panels by providing alternative current paths. aleo thus prevents a major cause of the diminishing output of solar panels over their service life. In addition, the tried-and-tested upright packaging method of the panels prevents damage and defects from occurring during transport.

Maximum solar power harvest with minimum ecological impact

aleo photovoltaic panels incorporate consistent climate protection right from the manufacturing stage. aleo produces its LEO solar panels in Germany. This ensures short transport distances. In addition, 100 percent of the electricity used for panel production comes from renewable energies. „For climate and environmental protection, it is important to achieve the highest possible solar power harvest over the years, whilst using as few resources as possible. That’s why we not only attach great importance to maximum efficiency, but also to the long service life of our panels“, says William Chen, CEO of aleo.

The LEO panels are also larger than their predecessors. This means that more solar power can be installed in less time. Nevertheless, they can withstand high snow loads (up to 8,100 Pa pressure) and storms (3,600 Pa suction). They are also certified for extreme conditions such as salt mist in coastal regions, desert regions or ammonia from animal sheds.

The principle of longevity also applies to the details. For example, aleo uses original MC4 connectors with MULTILAM technology. The spring-loaded contact fins ensure that the losses on the connectors remain low over the entire service life.

The 25-year product and performance guarantee underpins the long service life of LEO panels. In the event of a warranty claim, the company bears the whole cost of replacing the panels.

Diverse options for roof- and building integration

The LEO Sol in-roof variant also comes in all black, with a peak output of 330 watts and a size of 1,169 x 1,607 x 17 mm.

Market reacts to energy crisis – sharp increase in demand for Tesvolt energy storage systems

PRESS RELEASE – Wittenberg/Germany, 11 April 2022:

Tesvolt, one of the world’s leading producers of energy storage technology for the commercial and industrial sectors, is currently experiencing a sharp increase in the demand for its battery storage systems that significantly exceed long-term growth trends. Against the backdrop of dramatic increases in oil and gas prices, Tesvolt’s order volume has seen a rapid increase over recent weeks and, in March 2022, peaked at 195% over that of the previous year.

You can find press images here:

Daniel Hannemann, Tesvolt CEO and co-founder: „The tragic events in Ukraine are showing just how much the industrial sector depends on Russian oil and gas. This vast surge in orders highlights that increasingly more companies are now looking to quickly and permanently reduce their dependency on fossil fuels. In order to do so, we need to effectively couple renewable energy generation systems with decentralised energy storage solutions.

Currently, demand for commercial energy storage systems has drastically surged, particularly from Western Europe. The move towards replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy and suitable storage systems is especially strong among medium-sized businesses. The key drivers behind this development are the high fuel prices and the expansion of the charging infrastructure.

Daniel Hannemann: „Efficient storage and use of renewable energy is the most important requirement for becoming independent of oil and gas in the long term – and for achieving the ecologically necessary energy transition. This has become increasingly more evident in recent weeks in the European economy, and it is now up to our sector to provide first-rate solutions for meeting this demand quickly and comprehensively. And this is precisely what we are investing in.

Effie Award

How do you win over craftsmen for a digital roadshow?

Electrical craftsman can not complain about lack of orders or idle time. At the same time, it is being wooed by many manufacturers, who want the tradesman to become a specialist partner for their own product.

Expectations surpassed

Our customer TESVOLT also wanted to win new trade partners with its digital roadshow “TESVOLT Euro Tour” – across Europe. Not only did we succeed, but our client’s conversion target was far exceeded: 1,244 tradespeople registered for the digital roadshow via a well thought-out sales funnel and media mix, and 182 of them became trade partners directly afterwards. In the campaign year 2020, TESVOLT was also able to increase its sales by more than 50% compared to the previous year.

This also convinced the GWA Effie Award jury, which awarded a silver B2B Effie – the Oscar of the marketing industry – for the campaign in Germany in the “Activation” category.

Who reads where what

Sunbeam was responsible for all media planning in ten European countries. Since the electrical trade is the target group of many of our customers, we know which trade media are mainly read by them. At the same time, we have long-established contacts with the publishers of the important media. This has enabled us to negotiate prominent placements in print and online media at the best prices. This and the right channels contributed significantly to the efficiency of the campaign – and efficiency is a decisive award criterion for the Effie Award, the prize for efficient brand communication. We provided additional reach with PR and advertorials.

The best out of it

The RosenbauerSolbach advertising agency was responsible for the successful marketing campaign. Hand in hand, we brought out the best for TESVOLT and thank all those involved who contributed to this impressive success.

This is what our client says

„Sunbeam simply knows what tradespeople read and how to reach them. We’ve been working with the Berlin team since our inception for a reason; they simply know the renewables industry very well. The top placements in the right media and the PR around the campaign contributed quite significantly to the success of our roadshow.“
