aleo presents new premium panel for Swiss Solrif solar roof tiles

PRESS RELEASE –  Prenzlau/Hedingen, 2.8.2022:

The premium panels in aleo’s new LEO series are also available as solar roof tiles. With LEO Sol, aleo is launching a high-performance half-cell panel. LEO Sol can be integrated into the roof surface using the Solrif in-roof photovoltaic mounting system from Ernst Schweizer AG. The glass-foil panel with black back sheet is larger and higher-yielding than its predecessors. When mounting with Solrif, the classic roof tile is replaced by the solar roof tile, creating a high-quality and homogenous appearance on the roof.

You can find a press image here: www.aleo-solar.com/newsitem/aleo-presents-new-premium-panel-for-swiss-solrif-solar-roof-tiles/

New efficiency class for proven system

The new monocrystalline premium panel LEO Sol with a size of 1,169 mm x 1,607 mm x 17 mm and a peak output of 345 W consists of 96 half cells. By using half-cells with 10 busbars, aleo minimises the series resistance and thus maximises the efficiency of its LEO premium panel. Instead of flat wire, thin, round wires are used so that more light hits the cells. The division of the cells and the closely spaced busbars also ensure that the panles last longer, as additional current paths are created.

With the Solrif in-roof PV mounting system from Ernst Schweizer, which has been tried and tested for over 20 years, LEO Sol is laid overlapping and tension-free on the pitched roof instead of being clamped. The solar roof tile is laid directly on the supporting battens just like conventional clay roof tiles. In addition to partial roofs, full roof coverings are also possible: Solrif blind modules offer design options for integrating corners and edges around chimneys, skylights or dormers homogeneously into the roof. Due to the free lower edge of the panels, the Solrif system is self-cleaning and requires virtually no maintenance.

Simple planning, comprehensive testing

The planning software Solar.Pro.Tool from Schweizer allows the system configuration with LEO Sol to be planned easily and, taking into account statics and electrics, safely. LEO Sol has been tested and certified as a hard roofing system for fire protection, is free of snail tracks and can withstand hailstones of up to 40 mm.

Solar aesthetics Made in Europe

With its uniform appearance, the solar roof tile Solrif is also suitable for use on listed buildings and for aesthetically demanding new construction and renovation projects. “As the global market leader in in-roof photovoltaic installation, we have particularly high demands on the performance and aesthetics of our solar roof tiles. Together with aleo and LEO Sol, we offer an in-roof PV solution that combines the latest technology with a chic look,” says Helge Hartwig, Sales Manager Solrif at Ernst Schweizer.

Quality as well as sustainability go hand in hand in the production of both system components: The premium panel LEO Sol is produced at aleo in Prenzlau using 100 percent renewable energy and comes with a product and performance guarantee of 25 years. Ernst Schweizer produces the Solrif mounting system with durable aluminium directly in Switzerland. Since the solar roof tile replaces the classic roof tile, both materials and work steps are saved during installation. And thanks to short transport routes within Europe, the LEO Sol-Solrif system combination causes fewer greenhouse emissions during delivery.

William Chen, CEO at aleo: “Our new LEO series is the most powerful that aleo has produced to date. The LEO Sol panel meets the high quality standards of the new series. The black back sheet completes the elegant look of the panel. Together with the Swiss mounting system Solrif, we are bringing a high-quality and sustainable in-roof photovoltaic solution `Made in Europe` to the market that is something to be proud of.”

Decarbonisation needs cross-industry cooperation

“decarbXpo’s cross-industry and cross-sectoral approach is an ideal match for the innovations happening in the hydrogen sector which theH2UB is supporting: It’s not just a few industries but almost all economic sectors can reduce their climate-relevant emissions by utilising hydrogen. Upstream and downstream processes within the hydrogen value chain, supply chains, and converting and expanding the existing infrastructure call for a strategic approach. This is the only way to supply all users with enough hydrogen at the right time, and to plan and implement the use of hydrogen in a business context. A common roadmap and an active exchange between all participants are essential, and start-ups play an important role”, says Uwe Kerkmann, CEO of H2UB.

Joint stand “Experience H2 Innovation with H2UB”

The H2UB will offer start-ups from the hydrogen sector a presentation and communication platform at decarbXpo. H2UB invites start-ups from the entire value chain – from production, storage and transport of hydrogen to its use in different industries and sectors – to apply for a space at the “Experience H2 Innovation with H2UB” joint stand. The H2UB is also active in the accompanying programme of decarbXpo.

“We offer start-ups from the hydrogen economy an excellent opportunity to present their innovations and ideas to an expert audience from different industries and business sectors, and thus to potential beta customers”, says Kerkmann.

decarbXpo takes advantage of Messe Düsseldorf’s industry network

As one of the world’s largest trade fair companies, Messe Düsseldorf has access to a network with several hundred-thousand visitor contacts in industries such as glass, metal, plastics and paper. In addition, there are user industries for energy storage and decarbonization such as retail and medical technology. Young companies can benefit from this network: “Start-ups from the hydrogen sector meet different industries at decarbXpo, international companies and minds with strategic vision, who are interested in joint projects. The industry is very open to hydrogen innovations. We are sure that the H2UB H2 innovation platform at decarbXpo will be well attended”, adds Bernd Jablonowski, Executive Director, Messe Düsseldorf.

Tesvolt wins leading innovation prize for SMEs again

PRESS RELEASE – Wittenberg/Germany, 27 June 2022:

The battery storage system manufacturer has been named “Innovator of the Year 2022” //

Tesvolt, manufacturer of energy storage systems for commerce and industry, has been named “Innovator of the Year” in the TOP 100 competition for the second time. It secured first place in its size category of 51 to 200 employees in this leading innovation contest for German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The 24-member expert panel was impressed by the outstanding climate of innovation and the innovative technology that underpins Tesvolt’s energy storage systems. The TOP 100 trophy was presented on Friday as part of the German SME Summit in Frankfurt am Main’s Jahrhunderthalle. This was the competition’s 29th instalment.

You can find press images here: https://www.tesvolt.com/en/press/tesvolt-wins-leading-innovation-prize-for-smes-again.html

An agile organisation: everyone can be an innovator at Tesvolt

“I believe that innovations are revolutionary ideas that make our world a better place. With many countries now seeking to gain independence from Russian gas imports, innovation in the field of renewable energies is more important than ever before,” commented Daniel Hannemann, Co-Founder and CEO of Tesvolt. “Most of the time, innovations are the result of spontaneous ideas – and then you need the courage and the right environment to transform ideas into marketable products. Anyone can be an innovator at Tesvolt thanks to our agile organisational structure. I am tremendously proud of our joint effort in becoming Innovator of the Year again.”

Tesvolt opted to implement an agile organisational structure four years ago. Since then, it has dispensed with classic hierarchies. All employees receive comprehensive training on the methods of the agile organisational structure. “At Tesvolt, decisions are made in the team – in line with an agile principle that rapidly leads to results. This approach works exceptionally well,” reported Tjorven Niels Graßnick, Corporate Agile Coach at Tesvolt. “All employees have also received company shares, which also promotes a climate of innovation.”

Technological innovation saves electricity costs

Tesvolt’s innovative energy management system (EMS) was also a crucial factor in the panel naming the Wittenberg-based company Innovator of the Year once more. The EMS captures the energy flows of all consumers and producers and controls them as efficiently as possible. This allows to combine a range of applications, such as optimised self-consumption and intelligent peak shaving. Previously, operators had to choose one of the possible uses in advance. So the energy storage system adapts better to the individual requirements of commercial and industrial uses and thus saves even more electricity costs.

Scientific selection procedure

The TOP 100 innovation competition is based on a scientific selection procedure. Prof. Nikolaus Franke (one of the world’s leading innovation researchers, with 25 research awards to his name) and his team compared 436 SMEs based on more than 100 innovation indicators. They scrutinised the climate of innovation and the management team’s willingness to promote innovation, and the success of the resulting products on the market. The expert panel used this analysis to choose the winners. The panel is made up of experts from business, academia, the media and politics – including the likes of consultant Roland Berger and politician Gregor Gysi. The competition’s project partners are the Fraunhofer Society for the Advancement of Applied Research and the German Association for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW).

“The competition was very strong again this year and it was impressive to see how innovative SMEs have dealt with the changes and challenges of our time. From the large amount of applicants, we determined the best“, said Prof. Nikolaus Franke, scientific director of the contest. The jury awarded Tesvolt the top grade of A+ in the four categories of Innovation Promoting Top Management, Innovation Climate, Innovative Processes & Organisation and External Orientation.

DHYBRID and Vibran complete largest microgrid in Colombia

PRESS RELEASE

DHYBRID and Vibran complete largest microgrid in Colombia

Supply security for remote region

Ungía (Colombia)/Gauting (Germany), December 15, 2021. In the Colombian municipality of Ungía, DHYBRID and its regional partner, Vibran, have installed the largest hybrid microgrid in the country. This isolated community in the Chocó Department is not accessible by road. Until now, supply was restricted to 8 hours a day and was provided by diesel generators. Thanks to the new microgrid, over 10,000 families now have a reliable power supply around the clock.

You can find press images here: https://www.dhybrid.de/en/press-article/dhybrid-and-vibran-complete-largest-microgrid-in-colombia

The new grid is controlled and monitored by DHYBRID’s manufacturer-independent and technology agnostic Universal Power Platform (UPP). This energy management system connects four generators with a 780 kWp solar system and a 333 kWh power storage unit with a maximum output of 122 kW.

CO2 emissions cut by 818 tons per year

In addition to eliminating 818 tons of CO2 emissions from diesel generators per year, the microgrid also reduces exhaust emissions and fine dust pollution at the local level. The total fuel savings amount to 328,000 liters, not including the energy for the cumbersome transportation of diesel fuel through the jungle by boat.

Miguel Lotero Robledo, Deputy Minister of Energy, personally inaugurated the microgrid. The new system was funded through a government program aimed at supplying remote areas with green energy.

Commissioning via remote access

During the construction phase, the team faced a number of challenges including the transportation of components to the region. On top of that, the coronavirus pandemic meant that the engineers from DHYBRID were not able to travel from Germany to Colombia. These challenges were solved through close cooperation between the local experts and DHYBRID engineers in Germany: The system was installed by Vibran’s on-site team and configured and commissioned from Germany.

The project shows how a gradual expansion of renewable energy supply in Latin America can succeed: Operators and energy suppliers remain flexible through a technology agnostic energy management system. They can benefit from the best solution available at the moment of implementation but remain open to extend their capacities regardless of manufacturers and technology. This way they can optimally adapt the output of grids to a growing demand in the future,” explains Tom Fricke, Head of Energy Storage at DHYBRID. DHYBRID is already planning three more projects in Colombia.

Green hydrogen at any time

We want to enable climate-neutral production for commercial and industrial companies. And for this the Schaper Group is exactly the right partner,” explains Daniel Hannemann, founder and Commercial Director at Tesvolt. “In its projects for the hydrogen pioneer Apex, Schaper has demonstrated that energy supply using only renewables is possible.

Apex supplies industrial companies around the world with heat and electricity, both of which are produced completely emission-free from hydrogen. An electrolyser generates hydrogen using electricity from renewable energies. If solar and wind energy systems fail to provide the required volume of electricity, the high-performance electricity storage systems from Tesvolt supply the electrolyser with green surplus energy from temporary storage. Even if the public power grid fails, the Tesvolt storage systems provide an uninterruptible power supply for all consumers.

Schaper Group deploys Tesvolt storage systems exclusively

The Schaper Group plans and implements high-level control technology and energy integration for the hydrogen production plants. In its projects for Apex, Schaper relies exclusively on the intelligent battery storage systems from Tesvolt, which have already received a number of innovation awards.

Zimbabwe's Largest Tea Producer Implements Microgrid from DHYBRID and Blockpower

PRESS RELEASE

Zimbabwe’s Largest Tea Producer Implements Microgrid from DHYBRID and Blockpower

Project to be showcased at EM-Power in Munich, Germany, October 6-8, 2021

Harare (Zimbabwe)/Munich (Germany), September 30, 2021. Tanganda Tea Company Limited, Zimbabwe’s largest tea producer and one of the largest on the African continent, uses its own microgrids at Tingamira and Jersey sites for secure and environmentally friendly energy supply since July 2021. The system consists of a megawatt-class solar plant, a lithium-ion energy storage system, and three diesel generators. It was implemented by DHYBRID and its partner, South African renewable energy specialists Blockpower. In addition to tea and coffee, avocados, and macadamia nuts are grown on site.

You can find press images here: https://www.dhybrid.de/en/press-article/zimbabwes-largest-tea-producer-implements-microgrid-from-dhybrid-and-blockpower-30

Sustainable production across the value chain is becoming increasingly important for companies like Tanganda. This includes a climate-friendly and reliable energy supply. Solar hybrid systems are an ideal solution for this: They minimise CO2 emissions and reduce operating costs at the same time,” says Tom Fricke, Head of Energy Storage at DHYBRID.

Payback Time Is Three to Four Years

The region in eastern Zimbabwe is remote and difficult to reach. By reducing diesel consumption and high transport costs, the investment in the new technology will pay for itself within three to four years. Compared to the previous energy supply, which relied on diesel generators and the unstable public power grid, CO2 emissions are reduced up to 6,000 tons per year.

DHYBRID’s energy management system, the Universal Power Platform (UPP) controls all major components: the 2.6 MWp PV system, a lithium-ion storage system with 980 kWh capacity and an output of 1,000 kW as well as several diesel generators used for back-up supply.

The system is designed to be scalable and can be expanded at any time to include additional energy generators and storage. The integrated SCADA solution allows the overall microgrid to be monitored and controlled, further consumption levels are displayed in real time.

Here in Africa, we often have to deal with very heterogeneous energy systems that are moreover growing gradually. For this, we need a technology-open and very flexible energy management system,” says Kyle Bohnsack, Director of Blockpower. “DHYBRID’s UPP is an ideal solution that we can leverage through our regional expertise.

DHYBRID will showcase the project from October 6-8, 2021, at EM-Power in Munich, Germany, booth B5 552.

An evolutionary leap for ENERGY STORAGE > Expo for Decarbonised Industries

PRESS RELEASE

An evolutionary leap for ENERGY STORAGE > Expo for Decarbonised Industries

A platform that unites technology and services for industrial and commercial decarbonisation

Düsseldorf, 28 September 2021 – Messe Düsseldorf expands ENERGY STORAGE EUROPE into an Expo for Decarbonised Industries. The new format will be held from 20 to 22 September 2022 at the Düsseldorf trade fair centre in parallel with the world-leading trade fair glasstec. Along with a variety of storage solutions, it offers the industrial and commercial sectors a range of products and solutions, along with consultation, for decarbonisation that has never been seen before. The solid progress of this trade fair reflects the revolution in industry, politics, NGOs and society in general.

Climate-neutrality and decarbonisation are two mega-trends for the industry of tomorrow. In North-Rhine Westphalia, Thyssen Krupp Steel took on a pioneering role with its implementation of a special hydrogen process. Simultaneously, the state government and federal government are pursuing the goal of advancing climate protection and transformation of the energy system with significant investments in line with their Climate Change Act. The Expo for Decarbonised Industries > ENERGY STORAGE forms the perfect platform for industrial and commercial decarbonisation in Germany.

The title, “Expo for Decarbonised Industries”, addresses many industries whose leading trade fairs are already held on our home ground”, states Gerrit Nawracala, Project Director for the trade fair, and continues: “We are thus able to find the right answers to the challenges and questions that our customers have on climate protection, energy costs and supply security in a targeted way.

Whether the industry be chemistry, steel, automotive or construction, this structural change affects all of them alike and will be accelerated by the new political framework conditions. “The energy revolution needs solutions that work on an industrial scale, such as those for producing hydrogen, for example. To this end, we network our partner industries with specialised technological suppliers and service providers”, states Nawracala. This specialist trade fair will be supported by the German Engineering Association (VDMA) and its partner of many years, the German Energy Storage System Association, a registered association, in expanding its themes.

Holding the Expo for Decarbonised Industries > ENERGY STORAGE and glasstec simultaneously creates a win-win situation for the industry. Glass manufacturing is an energy-intensive process that also creates high quantities of CO2 emissions. Stricter constraints and increasing CO2 taxes are forcing the glass industry to act, and not just in Germany. This creates a huge demand for solutions for reducing emissions and more energy efficiency. This demand is covered with custom solutions and products from our exhibitors”, affirms Nawracala.

In addition to the huge variety in energy storage systems, the Expo for Decarbonised Industries > ENERGY STORAGE also offers a high-quality conference and forum programme on the subjects of research, science and industry which are currently affecting both manufacturers and potential users of energy storage systems. PRESS RELEASE

Tesvolt expands its operations on four continents

Wittenberg, Cape Town, São Paulo, 07/09/2021 – Tesvolt, a manufacturer of battery storage systems for commercial and industrial use, has posted strong growth in the first half of 2021. Alongside high demand for intelligent energy storage systems in Germany, international business is a key engine for growth. Over 40% of Tesvolt’s turnover now comes from international sales. It also plans to enter the North American market next year.

Marked rise in international orders

Our mission is to bring affordable green energy to every corner of the world,” explains Tesvolt’s Commercial Director, Daniel Hannemann. “We’ve come quite a bit closer to the goal yet again. In addition to our sales activities in Europe, we’ve established new sales partnerships in Latin America and Africa and deepened our partnership in the Australian market. We’ve also noticed the effect of this in the number of international orders, which has risen by 170% when compared to the first half of 2020.

Market share in Europe and overseas

In Europe, Tesvolt’s market share in the commercial energy storage systems segment is around 20%, with its market share in its core segment of battery storage systems in the 30 kWh to 1 MWh size classes at 49% in Germany alone. Tesvolt has a market share in the double digits in some of its overseas markets as well.

Major renewable energy specialist named sales partner in Africa

For the African market, Tesvolt works with Cape Town-based Solarworld Africa, one of the biggest specialist retailers for high-quality components in the field of renewable energies.

As the energy infrastructure in Africa varies widely from country to country, our customers’ requirements are also extremely diverse,” says Managing Director of Solarworld Africa, Gregor Küpper. “The storage systems from Tesvolt can fulfil all of these requirements.”

South America: huge market potential for power storage systems

In South America, Tesvolt works together with the project developer Brasal Energia, which is based in Brazil’s capital of Brasília. For the Brazilian market, Tesvolt’s authorised service partner is Ideatek, which is based in the São Paulo area.

Tesvolt is the technology leader in the commercial storage system market and works together with the premium inverter manufacturer SMA. That generates a lot of trust and puts the company on a good footing in Brazil,” says Ideatek Director Rogerio Mattos. “Power storage systems have huge market potential in Brazil because the electricity for business and industry during the day is five to eight times more expensive than during night-time hours.” Battery storage systems therefore often amortise within just a few years.

Tesvolt has already outfitted over 2,200 projects worldwide with its battery storage systems. Power storage systems from Tesvolt help commercial and industrial companies on every continent reliably draw inexpensive electricity.

About Tesvolt

Tesvolt specialises in battery storage systems for commerce and industry. The innovative company produces intelligent lithium storage systems with prismatic battery cells from Samsung SDI based on nickel manganese cobalt oxide. Tesvolt manufactures its power storage system solutions in series production at Europe’s first gigafactory for commercial battery storage systems at their Wittenberg site in Germany and delivers them worldwide. The young company with over 100 employees has already received several awards, including the German Entrepreneur Award in the “Rising Stars” category, the “TOP 100” award for innovation and the international award for rural electrification (ARE).
